| Welcome to the Twin Lakes Area
of the Arkansas and Missouri Ozark Mountains. The name is taken from Bull
Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake. The White River, Buffalo River, and North Fork River are
also in this region of the Ozark Mountains. O.M.W. (Ozark Mountains Website, Inc.) covers
the north central Arkansas Ozarks and the south central Missouri Ozarks. The Twin Lakes
Area is a popular vacation and outdoor recreation destination visited annually by an
average of a million tourists. Yet due to it's vast expanse, the Twin Lakes Area of the
Ozark Mountains remains uncrowded, unpolluted, and unspoiled. Finding What You Want In The Ozarks

a specific destination of the Ozarks, such as a lake or river. You will find businesses

Area Fishing &
Recreation Excellent Despite Spring 2008 Floods
With rare exception area lake and river resorts were not damaged by flooding this spring.
Trout fishing remains excellent on the White and North Fork Rivers. Canoeing and fishing
on the Buffalo river will be excellent this spring. Area road damage was minor.Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes do have high water levels. Dock access
in some locations may be limited but most docks can be accessed. Lake fishing will be
excellent this spring, lake watersports this summer will not be affected. High water
greatly enhances lake fish spawns.
Most resorts are not experiencing diminished dock services, a
few are. Diminished dock services will be temporary. If you have concerns please call your
favorite resort for details.
